Satopanth Tal is a one of the beautiful trails in Garhwal region - Uttarakhand, India. located in the midst of snow-capped peaks at an altitude of 4,600 metres above sea-level. The lake is triangular with a diameter of about 500 yards and it remains clean throughout the year. Many people believe that the Trimoortis – Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva meditated on its three corners and bathe here in an auspicious day. Most provably for this religious significance local people of Mana village (India’s last village) throw the ashes of the dead in the lake.
Satopanth Tal is 22 km from Badrinath. Mt. Nilkantha, Choukhamba Peak and Balakun Peaks are visible from here. This route offers you mix terrain including forests, rocky paths, alpine meadows and glacial moraines. Trekkers encounter steep ascents and descents, as well as river crossings along the way.
