NAR PHU KANG-LA TREK, NEPAL – In a significant achievement for the Indian trekking community, a five-member team has successfully completed the arduous Nar Phu Kang La Trek in the Nepal Himalayas. The trekking expedition, which concluded on October 12, 2025, was executed under the logistical expertise and leadership of Chuchura Padatik (High Altitude Trek Solution).
NATURE OF THE TREK: Into the Hidden Valleys
The Nar Phu Kang La route is renowned among seasoned trekkers as one of the most secluded and culturally preserved trails in the Annapurna region. Bypassing the more frequented tourist paths, the team ventured into the "lost valleys" of Nar and Phu—regions that remained closed to trekkers until 2002.The journey culminated in the successful crossing of the Kang La Pass, standing at a formidable 5,322 meters (17,460 feet). This high-altitude pass connects the remote Nar village to the main Annapurna circuit route, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna Massif, Lamjung Kailash, Himlung Himal, Manaslu and Tilicho Peak.
Leadership and Resilience: The expedition was led by Mr. Sandipan Ghosh, Senior Advisor of Chuchura Padatik, whose veteran experience in high-altitude terrain was instrumental in navigating the rugged landscape.
Trek Highlights: This trek is not just about physical endurance; it is a deep dive into ancient Tibetan-derived culture and untouched alpine wilderness, said a spokesperson for Chuchura Padatik. "The team demonstrated exceptional resilience and spirit, especially given the demanding nature of the 5,000m+ pass."
Regional Cultural Immersion: Exploration of the ancient stone villages of Phu and Nar, characterized by unique chortens and monasteries.
Technical Achievement: Successful navigation of the steep, scree-filled descent from the Kang La Pass.Logistical Excellence: Seamless execution by Chuchura Padatik, ensuring safety and support in a region with limited infrastructure.
